A. What is political ideology and does it get us to truth? When answering this question, separate out the approaches that are positive toward the idea versus approaches that are not. Also, what is the difference between orthodoxy and pragmatism? Is pragmatism an "ideology," why or why not?

B. Describe the various theories that political scientists use to measure a person's ideology. Be sure to differentiate the difference between fixed subject matter being the key variable versus spatial proximity being the key factor. Finally, what is centrism? Be sure to describe all of the various theories that could apply to someone who was "in the middle" on the political spectrum.
